All practical information for you who will participate in Southern Sweden Design Days

Southern Sweden Design Days is celebrating its 5th anniversary and we look forward to designing Malmö's design festival together with you! 22–25 May is the fifth edition with a focus on sustainability, cooperation, development and innovation. The design festival is organised by Form/Design Center.

Open Call

Take the chance to be part of Southern Sweden Design Days 2025! Register your participation between 1 November and 15 January and take part in the design festival on 22–25 May. Through your participation, you will have the opportunity to reach a wide audience through exciting program activities.

Theme 2025 – ECHO

The theme for Southern Sweden Design Days is 'ECHO' and encourages exploration of the dynamic relationship between the past, present, and future. Like an echo, design is not isolated—it resonates, evolves, and influences its surroundings. Every design solution creates ripples, impacting both the environments it exists in and the people who interact with it.

Formats and locations for participation

Take part in an exhibition, hold a seminar, arrange a workshop or create an outdoor installation. Other program formats such as fashion shows, guided shows or networking events also provide fantastic opportunities to reach a broad and engaged audience.

You can participate from any location in Malmö, the whole city is filled with design for four days. Southern Sweden Design Days also has a Main location, Lokstallarna in Kirseberg.

Main Location

The design festival's Main Location is Lokstallarna in Kirseberg. The venue's 6,000 m2 accommodates exhibitions, seminars, workshops and activities.

In the city

You can participate with your program activity in your studio, outdoors, in a shop or why not in a completely new, unexpected place in Malmö?

SSDD Studio

Do you want to arrange a talk, seminar, workshop, entertainment, etc.? You can apply to hold a program point in the studio at the Main Location live in front of an audience.

SSDD Junior

As a participant, you can apply to arrange an activity for children either in our workshop space at the Main location, or at any location in Malmö.

22 Oct: Community Gathering at Form/Design Center
1 Nov – 15 Jan: Registration to SSDD 2025
23 Jan: Information meeting about locations
10 March: Finalize program activity on the website
5 – 15 May: Pick up location materials at Form/Design Center
22 – 25 May: Southern Sweden Design Days 2025. Register visitor statistics
25 May – 10 June: Submit visitor statistics and evaluation for your location
